FLANNEL UPCYCLE WORKSHOP

Give an old flannel a new life.

In this 3-hour upcycling workshop at La Paisa Studio, you'll transform a flannel or button-up you already own into a one-of-a-kind piece using sewing, reconstruction, and creative upcycling techniques.

Instead of following one exact design, you'll have the freedom to make your piece your own.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You'll explore ways to rework your garment through techniques such as:

• Cropping or reshaping

• Adding contrasting or reclaimed fabric

• Tapestry details

• Patchwork

• Adding or changing pockets

• Raw-edge and exposed-seam details

• Combining different textiles

• Simple garment reconstruction

Your final design will depend on the garment you bring and what you want to create.

WHAT TO BRING

Bring one flannel or button-up shirt that you are comfortable cutting and transforming.

Oversized garments are highly recommended because they give you more material and more options to work with.

Please do not bring a garment that is extremely delicate, valuable, or irreplaceable.

La Paisa will provide sewing machines, studio equipment, basic tools, and a curated selection of reclaimed/upcycled materials for customization.

SKILL LEVEL

Some basic sewing-machine experience is recommended.

This workshop is designed for people who can work somewhat independently while receiving guidance throughout the project.

Never used a sewing machine before? We recommend taking our Intro to Sewing class first.

STUDIO POLICIES

Cancellations & Transfers

All class bookings are final sale.

Because seating is extremely limited and materials are prepared in advance, we do not offer refunds for cancellations or missed classes.

If you cannot attend, you may transfer your seat to another person by notifying us at least 24 hours before the class.

If you cancel more than 48 hours before the class, you may request a one-time credit toward a future class, valid for 30 days.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the class start time are not eligible for credit.

No-shows forfeit their seat and payment.

Late Arrivals

Classes begin promptly at the scheduled time.

Guests arriving more than 15 minutes late may not be admitted, as late arrivals can disrupt instruction and project flow.

Safety

All participants must follow studio safety instructions when using sewing machines, tools, irons, and other equipment.

Photo & Video Release

By attending a class or event at our studio, you grant permission for La Paisa to capture photos and video footage during the session for use in marketing, social media, website content, and promotional materials.

We strive to create a welcoming and respectful environment. If you prefer not to appear in photos or videos, please notify us before class begins, and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.
